Free Range

Now in its tenth edition, Free Range is the biggest showcase of fresh talent, the number one launchpad for graduates of arts and design. Based in the Truman Brewery—a cavernous warehouse space in the heart of East London’s buzzing design scene, right off Brick Lane—every year the show becomes a focal point for the art and design world, which moves east to explore the future of the arts fresh out of the factory. The eight–week exhibition (focusing on a different discipline every week, from graphic design to photography, from fine art to product design) provides the young talents with a place to display their first works, and to make a connection with future clients and public. With a fashion week debut this year, a three–day event of fashion shows from schools from all over the United Kingdom, Free Range is fast becoming a legendary institution, with its potential analyzed internationally by art and design communities. We have our eyes on Rada Lewis (radalewis.com), a Goldsmith graduate who designed an exquisitely crafted series of pop-up books, paper toys and illustrations to explain fertility to both children and adults. All we can say is watch this space in the next few months, because we are not letting these talents go!
