SOMA, in participation with Patron XO and San Francisco’s premier nightlife hotspot MIGHTY, threw an event to showcase some of the freshest designers, artists and fashionistas in the Bay Area. In the grand tradition of the annual Music Issue release party, club kids enjoyed an evening that started with a fashion show and ended a high-octane set from Dan the Automator. Thousands mingled and mixed it up on the dance floor and select VIP’s took the festivities to the after-party at the posh and exclusive lounge WISH where they sipped Patron into the early morning hours.
Vanguard Properties and SOMA Magazine proudly unveiled the The Palms San Francisco lobby on Thursday, August 10th. Inspired by Miami’s Alison Spear with new models designed by Charles de Lisle of Your Space Interiors, guests saw an exclusive preview of the sophisticated new space. Champagne and Palms cocktails were served throughout the evening.
For SOMA’s Design Issue release party, SOMA Magazine, DonovanSF and Passport Modeling joined forces for one night of Zen on Saturday, August 26th at the elegant and beautiful Ana Mandara restaurant. Guests enjoyed an acoustic guitar set by Chris Clouse, followed by an exclusive fashion show with Passport Models’ roster by celebrity designer Jason Christopher Peters. Guests danced the night away to DJ Donovan’s distinctive beats.
On Thursday, July 27th, SOMA presented Unearthed, an annual indie showcase of talent. A trunk show by local designers Marium Zain, Elena Kotchetova and Diana Nuon kicked off the night. Afterwards, live performances by a handful of some of the best up-and-coming bands in California: indie-pop bands Monsters Are Waiting and Love Like Fire, Berkeley guitarist Sean Smith, psych-rock bands Innaway and Stiletta rocked the house. The Cielo was flowing and the party was non-stop. Even the lovely ladies from the new mobile carrier for fashionable urbanites, Helio, joined the festivities, toting along some of their fabulous new devices.
